Theater Dortmund is looking back to 100 years of tradition. Today, it consists of six divisions: opera, ballet, philharmonic orchestra, drama and children's & youth theatre and the Academy for Theatre & Digitality.
Theater Dortmund stands for a guaranteed top quality in the cultural life in the city of Dortmund. Providing more than 70 different productions in over 750 shows for 250,000 audience members each season, it‘s one of the most productive theatres in Europe.
The various venues, opera house, young opera house, playhouse and studio stage as well as the children's theatre offer a programme that sets artistic highlights more than regional. Fans of classical or modern drama will get their money's worth as well as enthusiasts of opera, operetta, musical, philharmonic concerts and equally contemporary and classical ballet. In addition the Academy considers itself as a courageous place of innovation, inspiration, networking and trying out.
